Ziplines

A few weeks ago, Kevin surprised me by buying us tickets to go to a Zip Line Canopy Tour located at Smuggler's Notch in Vermont.  Kevin knew I had gone on ziplines in Mexico and that was definitely my favorite part.  It was a lot of fun. Thank you Kevin!

Garden!

Jen Trost sent me this book for my birthday and I decided I would plant a garden this year. Kevin made me the box and filled it for my birthday. The book calls for a different mix of dirt and it took him awhile to find the vermiculite. Today I went and got a few plants and will see if I can grow some plants before it gets too cold! I am very excited to have it all planted. Isn't it cute? Kevin did a great job building it. Thank you!

My Minnesota Trip

I was able to take a trip to Minnesota last week. It was a very busy week!

I celebrated 5 birthdays when I was there. On Saturday I went to the first party for my friend Ginger and Jade's triplets. Ella, Joel and Grace turned two! I will never forget going out to lunch with Ginger and her telling me she was pregnant with three! I can't believe how much they've grown.

On Sunday we celebrated Mike and Shannon's boy, Odin's first birthday. His middle name is Robert after Rob. Don't you love the blue frosting?

Monday was time to go to Mall of America. Rob's cousin Andrea and I met up to eat lunch and then shop. I was excited to see the huge black chococat at the Sanyo store. I gave Rob a little stuffed animal of chococat when he was in the Hospital in 2005. I figured the cat always had his eyes open, so something would always be watching over him.

We had a Hogan family get together on Tuesday to celebrate Mike's birthday and father's day. Mike, Denise and I went for a bike ride around Lake Harriet with the Brady's before the rest of the Hogan clan came. It was fun to be able to be with family.

I took this picture because this is how I always vision Mike. Rob and I would come over to their house and Mike always seemed to be sitting at the table doing something.

On Wednesday Denise, me, Jen and her two kids went to the Transportation museum in St Paul. Denise said it all when she asked that if this was the highlight of my trip. It was great to be with them and was glad we spent time together. The musuem needs to add a few more things to make it appealing to want to go.

Marlakarrie

Wednesday night I was able to go to my friends Dave and Karrie's house. I met them when I was a hair stylist. We clicked right away and Dave went on a trip with the boys to an F1 race in 2006. They now have two little ones, Ben and Natalie. Karrie was the one who introduced me to Penzey Spices and told me that King Arthur Flour was in Vermont. They also showed me how cool a panini grill is and I love that I have one now. I meant to tell them that I believe I have convinced three more people to get a panini grill.  I was glad we were able to spend some time in the kitchen and help her make a strawberry pie.

Thursday night I was able to get together with my friends Laura and Shannon. We had all gone to Mexico in May of 2007. We were able to catch up and enjoy some Olive Garden. Yum!

My birthday

Nicole sent me a cookbook and measuring cups for my birthday and I'm using them today to make a chocolate croissant thing. As you can see from all the butter, it is definitely a healthy cookbook. Thank you Nicole! The flowers are from Kevin. He figured out that my favorite flower is an iris, so he made sure to get a bouquet with them. So pretty!
